Riflessioni sulla Crescita Professionale:
Da poco ho avuto una conversazione “unica” con uno dei miei collaboratori.
Gli ho chiesto di cimentarsi in un’attività nuova, diversa rispetto alla sua routine abituale, un piccolo nuovo passo.
Per lui una nuova sfida, per me un test per comprendere la sua risposta al nuovo, al cambiamento.
Premetto niente di particolarmente complicato, e dopo aver illustrato cosa fare e come, il compito è stato valutato da lui stesso assolutamente fattibile.
Fantastico! Fino a che…
Non vedendo alcun progresso, ho chiesto quale fosse la ragione e…
La sua risposta mi ha colpito come un cazzotto sull’occhio…
“per farlo voglio garanzie per il futuro con voi…
Quello che mi chiedi non mi porta alcun vantaggio, solo un beneficio per l’azienda e quindi non sono d’accordo nel farlo”
Questo mi ha sorpreso, poiché vedevo questa novità come un’opportunità e una forma di garanzia in sé per valutare la continuità del suo contratto con noi.

Qui aggiungo la punteggiatura a simboleggiare i demoni interni che mi hanno assalito occhi, mente e lingua e che ho dovuto mettere a tacere (al meglio).
Non ho fatto mancare una serie di domande per andare in profondità nel suo pensiero…
Forse avrei dovuto interrompere li subito la conversazione,
ma ero sinceramente interessato ad andar a seguire il suo ragionamento, fino a spingermi a chiedergli,
“Se ti dessi carta bianca, come vedresti il tuo futuro crescendo con noi…? ”
– La sua prima risposta è stata forse peggio di quello che mi aveva appena detto:
“Avere un scrivania nuova, indicando la mia”.
Premetto che abbiamo un open space con scrivanie praticamente identiche tra loro…
Mi sono dovuto scolare una bottiglia d’acqua per riprendermi.
Nella mia visione di crescita vedo: aumento di competenze, conoscenze, cimentarsi in nuove attività, sperimentare nuove responsabilità, flessibilità, attitudine, ascolto ed esecuzione, predisposizione al cambiamento,
Non di certo garanzie e scrivanie.
Una delusione, che a bocce ferme mi porta a fare due riflessioni:
1 – Nei prossimi colloqui aggiungerò come domanda “Cosa vuol dire crescere per te ?” E vediamo su quali mobili da ufficio puntare 😊
2 – Sono fiducioso nel potenziale dei miei collaboratori, ma questa esperienza mi ha fatto riflettere sulla necessità di comunicare in modo più efficace l’importanza della flessibilità, dell’apertura al cambiamento e della continua crescita personale e professionale, come chiave per crescere.
Anche tu ti sei confrontato con questo “pensiero di crescita” , secondo te è ho scoperto un’isola deserta o è qualcosa di comune anche nel tuo mondo?
